Tropical Fish
We stock a wide range of fish, concentrating mainly on community fish.
This means that our customers can choose fish that generally get along
with each other.
Most sales tanks are individually filtered so if a disease does break
out in one tank it doesn’t spread into other tanks and therefore
infect other fish.
If a disease does break out , the fish are immediately taken off sale
and are treated.
Our most popular fish include:
Guppies, Tetras, Rasboras, Mollies, Platies & Danio's.
The fish have there own information label which is stuck below the tank
they are in, it gives you the fish's common name, Latin name, adult size
they will normally grow to, diet, and a few notes in general about the
fish. Please see examples….
As you
can see some labels have a green dot in the corner, this means that they
are suitable as ‘1st’ fish for a new aquarium or to those
starting out in fish keeping.
It means the fish are hardy and will stand the Nitrite level rising in
your tank and unless stated are community and will all mix together quite
happily, some even have live babies!
If you are new to fish keeping its wise to tell us when you come in,
we certainly won’t look down on you. We will try and answer all
your questions (even if they sound silly) we would rather you ask, rather
than you run into problems and get disheartened.
We hope that you will find that we do our best to explain things in 'English'
, instead of confusing you and not explaining things. We will help you
through setting up of and maintaining your aquarium.
